THE STAINLESS STEEL ALTERNATIVE

Building material that isn’t affected by water or coastal corrosion

Anyone that’s worked on construction projects on the water or near the beach knows the damage salt water and coastal conditions can do to traditional building materials like wood and metal. Sure, stainless steel is an option in those environments but it’s heavy and expensive.

Fibre-reinforced plastic building materials are lightweight, strong and best of all easy to use, cut, shape and install.

Don’t let the word ‘plastic’ fool you

You’re probably thinking to yourself ‘why would I build using plastic?’ and we don’t blame you for thinking that however, even though glass reinforced plastic has the word plastic in it, it doesn’t behave or have the properties of plastic as you know it. FRP building materials are:-

  • Incredibly strong
  • Very lightweight
  • Virtually non-degradable
  • More sustainable than aluminium, steel or timber
  • Available in a wide variety of colours & textures
  • fire resistant and not susceptible to melting

For your next jetty or coastal building project, rather than trying to source expensive and difficult-to-find ‘marine grade’ building materials, GRP building components are a great addition to your building toolkit.

Beams, angles, moulded gratings and handrail systems for jetties and marine construction

We stock many of the materials you will need to construct jetties, pontoons, boat ramps, docks or other maritime construction projects that need materials that won’t rust or corrode due to salt water or coastal conditions.

Our range of moulded gratings and handrail systems are the optimum solution for:-

  • Non-slip jetty flooring
  • Anti-slip stair treads
  • Security and safety fencing
  • Handrails
  • Ramps
